AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that defies traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "An unusual encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of prohibited practices and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine sect.
The mission centers on "strange tests and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Latest Free Story Content
This release also adds the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties.
