19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

The win also means he has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct events.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, including in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour title, took control to force a third set.

Moutet saved four initial chances in a tight third set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
