In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down my talk don't think I can make the flight we are heading to the airport".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing assistant".

These messages were published on Wednesday alongside more than 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the late financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his identity by cross-referencing the dates, events, and locations referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from the UK for the redacted user in the chat, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and gave the speech at the Oxford Union on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as Trump's closest advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but resigned from the White House in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein prior to his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his show earlier this year, he said: "We plan to release the film, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile occasionally appearing to serve like a aide.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you are well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The published messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in that year.

Earlier on the same day his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit thing this day with Nigel, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the period, he continued: "The guys are attempting to proceed. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Ideal- so people see the dedication of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely however the guys over here have no balls" and added "Boris ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to step up".

Theresa May was finally removed in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has never been in a meeting with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files related to its probe into Epstein, who passed away in jail in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was reignited this week after the publication of over 20,000 documents from his archives.

A portion of those referenced the former president, who has consistently rejected any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, a couple of years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
